Description
Ketosen Oral is a product in liquid form intended for use in the prevention of ketosis and supplementation of energy in diets for dairy cows. Negative energy balance results in subclinical ketosis, which is a common metabolic disease developing in cows with high milk production potential. Subclinical ketosis contributes to a reduction in productivity and increase in susceptibility to many diseases, such as mastitis, metritis and abomasum displacement. Ketosen Oral used as an infusion into the mouth ensures effective protection against development of ketosis in dairy cows. When using the product with TMR mix, the additional benefit is the increase in viscosity in the feed. In this way it is not so easy for the cow to sort the feed, which will reduce the risk of acidosis.
This product provides glucoplastic substances which increase the glucose level in the blood. Furthermore, it introduces methyl groups, which are necessary for normal metabolism in the liver. Additionaly, Ketosen Oral supplements ingredients for the improvement of the immunity of the cow: vitamin E and selenium. Ketosen Oral also improves fat metabolism, it provides vitamin B3 which is necessary for the synthesis of carnitine. Carnitine transports fatty acids through mitochondrial membranes and facilitates their oxidation. Furthermore, Ketosen Oral prevents fatty liver disease by supplementing choline.
