Description
Rymasol-50 is a solution consisting of 50 mg/ml carprofen which is a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID). These drugs work in inhibiting cyclooxygenase, an enzyme which converts arachidonic acid in prostaglandine. This mediator is a cause of many inflammatory diseases. Studies have shown that carprofen has potent antipyretic activity and significantly reduces the inflammatory response in lung tissue in cases of acute, pyrexic infectious respiratory disease in cattle. Studies in cattle with experimentally induced acute mastitis have shown that carprofen administered intravenously has potent antipyretic activity and improves heart rate and rumen function.
