Intradine Dip is based on chlorhexidine and cetrimide in combination with a high percentage of emollients, ensuring an excellent teat skin condition. This pre- and post-milking teat disinfectant contributes to a low mastitis level and forms a crucial part of proper farm management to reduce new intramammary infections in dairy cows.
Mastitis is an inflammation of the mammary gland, caused by microorganisms that invade the udder and produce toxins that damage the mammary gland. Teat dipping of dairy cows before and after milking with Intradine Dip reduces teat skin colonization and contamination by mastitis causing bacteria. This will minimize penetration of these bacteria into the teat canal.
Pre-milking:
- Intradine Dip is a ready-to-use product and should be used undiluted.
- Use a disposable towel to clean the cow’s teats.
- Fill the teat cup for 2/3 with Intradine Dip and immerse each teat. During dipping, allow a minimum contact time of 30 seconds.
- Dry teats thoroughly with a clean paper towel (one towel per cow) to avoid contamination of milk.
- Attach milking unit.
Post-milking:
- Dip or spray the teats immediately after milking and allow to air dry.
- Teat cups should be thoroughly washed after use.
