Calcium gluconate monohydrate and magnesium hypophosphite are soluble salts of calcium and magnesium respectively and used extensively in fluid infusions for correction of metabolic disturbances. On parenteral administration they rapidly increase plasma concentrations of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus. This is effective in the treatment of hypocalcaemia with associated magnesium and phosphorus deficiencies.
For the treatment of hypocalcaemic conditions in cattle (complicated by magnesium deficiency) and its consequences such as: milk fever, recumbency and grass tetany.
No contraindications have been identified for Calmasol-450P or any of its constituents.
Rapid intravenous injection may result in cardiac arrythmias and in severely toxaemic cows collapse and death.
Single administration via subcutaneous or slow intravenous injection.
For subcutaneous injection: massage site gently after administration.
